Forex & Treasury Out Sourcing
Treasury management is a niche and highly specialized domain. Caltech has a highly specialized team of treasury professionals comprising of ex bankers, dealers, Research analysts and Accountants. Several clients, therefore, entrust Caltech with managing their entire treasury function, end to end.
Caltech follows a systematic process of engaging with the client. Caltech begins by thoroughly analysing the client’s business model and risk appetite. This helps ascertain the funding requirements and the hedging philosophy.
Caltech then works with the client to document a risk management policy which serves as a blueprint for managing the various treasury functions.
Caltech manages the day-to-day treasury operations, maintains MIS and conducts frequent meetings with the client to review performance.
Forex Account Managed Services
The client entrust Caltech with managing its proprietary trading book. Caltech executes directional, carry and vol trading strategies in clients’ accounts using Caltech’s proprietary quant-based model.
This model has been subjected to rigorous back testing. This model complements Caltech’s techno-fundamental model that gives a short, medium and long-term bias for the UGX.
The model incorporates factors that have been found to be statistically significant for the UGX. The idea is to limit human involvement to the extent possible so as to prevent behavioural biases from creeping in. Various Risk limits have been established.
These risk limits are monitored on a continuous basis and are strictly adhered to. A worst-case scenario (WCS) analysis is conducted on the portfolio to get a sense of the maximum drawdown. The performance of the managed account is reported to the client on a daily basis in a standardized format. Caltech targets an annual return of 16- 20% on the managed accounts.
